September’s Food Pantry Distribution
The Kilmer Food Pantry was established to ensure that food insecure students don’t go hungry. Last Wednesday, the Food Pantry committee distributed several weekend food packs to ensure students had access to nutritious meals for the month.
Thank you to Erika Thornton, Jessica Inman, Melissa Hylands, and Mariana Añez Hayakawa for helping with September’s Food Pantry distribution. And thank you to Dan Ruecking for leading this effort.
Thank you also to Rustic Love for their generous donation to our Food Pantry. And thank you to all the families who have supported the Pantry thus far with either Amazon wish list purchases or direct website donations. Your Food Pantry donations make so much more possible.
Know of someone who could use assistance? The Kilmer Food Pantry is here to support Kilmer families in need. If you or a family in need would like to participate in monthly pick-ups or need additional assistance, please contact our Family Liaison, Ms. Mabel Morales, at mvmorales@fcps.edu.
Fueling Our Teachers on Back to School Night 🥪
Last Thursday, the PTA treated our teachers and staff with a special Back-to-School Night snack table! Back-to-School Night is always an extra-long day for our dedicated teachers, who stay well into the evening to help welcome our families into their classrooms. To help keep them fueled, the PTA provided a delicious spread of tea sandwiches, fresh fruit, chips, and soda.
Thank you to Smruti Parekh and Harini Machani for providing our teachers and staff with the delicious snacks. And thank you to all the families who have donated to our Teacher Appreciation Fund so far this year! Your contributions make appreciation events like this possible and help us show our wonderful teachers and staff just how much we value all that they do for our students and our school community.
Thank You! Jeni’s Ice Cream Fundraiser
Thank you to all our Kilmer families and friends who helped celebrate the start of the school year by making a stop at Jeni’s Ice Cream! And thank you to Deepti Jain for organizing our September Dining for Dollars Fundraiser. We appreciate all those who stopped to grab a scoop of their favorite ice cream and helped support the PTA!
