PTA REFLECTIONS
2025-2026 Reflections Theme
Do you enjoy art, music and dance or have an interest in writing, producing films or taking photos?
Then chase this opportunity to unleash your inner artist through PTA Reflections!
PTA Reflections is a national, judged competition and showcase of student art across disciplines. One artist in each category will be submitted by the Kilmer PTA to the County level, with subsequent tiers at the state and national level. Last year our Cougars Franco Rana, Naomi Rosner, and Simon Smith successfully competed at the county level, and Simon went on to the national level for visual arts - how cool is that?

How do I participate?
Entries are due to the Kilmer PTA not later than 13 November 2025. Online submission is encouraged, via DropBox HERE.
Alternatively, you may turn in your work of art to the entry box in the school office.
In addition to your artwork, your submission must include THIS entry form.

The Artist Statement is important! Judges will be reviewing each submission per the established criteria and your statement helps provide context.

The Reflections program helps students with both art appreciation and helps boost their confidence in their own artistic abilities. Each year over 300,000 students in pre-K through 12th grade create original works of art based on a given theme. This 50+ year old program helps them explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful in school and life.

Kilmer Winners:
Congratulations to Franco Rana, who won for Photography, Naomi Rosner, who won for both Literature and Music Competition, as well as Simon Smith and Samantha Sutton who both won for Visual Art.

Fairfax County Winners:
