New to Kilmer? Here's What YOU Need to Know

IMPORTANT Dates and Info for Back to School:
- Shifting Gears is August 7 & 8. This is transition program available for all rising 7th graders.
- Kilmer Open House & Student Schedules is Thursday, August 15.
- First day of school is Monday, August 19th!
- Back to School Night, Thursday, September 5th 6:00-8:00pm. Students do not attend this event.
- Parents Night Out and Kilmer 101 Panel, Sunday, September 8th 7:00-9:30pm. Students do not attend this event.
Kilmer operations an Anchor & Block Schedule. Each day has a schedule and designation: Anchor Day, Green Day, Blue Day.
- Bell Schedule: Start and End times of the Kilmer Middle School Block Schedule.
- Kilmer Anchor & Block Calendar: Full year printable version available indicating the days type (Anchor, Blue, Green).
KILMER PARENTS NIGHT OUT!
Please join us at Caboose Commons on Sunday, September 8th! 2918 Eskridge Rd in Mosaic from 7:00 - 9:30pm.
- 7:00-7:45pm “Kilmer 101” - Join us on the second floor for a panel discussion with veteran Kilmer parents sharing tips and tricks on how to best navigate Kilmer
- 7:45-9:30pm - Meet and greet other Kilmer families. The Kilmer PTA receives a portion of all beer sales
RSVPs requested but not required. It you are planning to come, please email
secretary@kilmerpta.org and let us know if you are coming at 7 for the panel or just for the meet and greet at 7:45.
Attendance reporting: There are three ways to report if your student will be absent. Click here to find out more on school options.
Supplies List: A general list of school supplies is recommended students start the year off with. Each teacher will share the supplies needed for their course during the first week of school and students will have until September 3 to bring those items in. If you are in need of school supplies and/or a backpack, please contact our Family Liaison, Jessica Rosas Diego (jrosasdiego@fcps.edu).

Buses: You should have already received an email from FCPS transportation with your child's bus information. To keep track of bus arrivals and delays, you can download the "Here Comes the Bus" App. The Kilmer school code is 28982.
